IT’S QUALITY OVER quantity today with not one but two provincial finals of the 2013 AIB senior club championships take place from 2pm.
Reigning football champions St Brigid’s (Roscommon) are bidding for their fifth Connacht title, all of which have been claimed since 2006. Opponents Castlebar Mitchels (Mayo) last won this competition twenty years ago.
The semi-finals of the Leinster senior football championship are also down for decision today with Portlaoise (Laois), Moorefield (Kildare), St Vincent’s (Dublin) and Summerhill (Meath) all hoping for a final berth.
